As tempting as it may be to over indulge this Easter, you may like to turn these sugar cravings into wisdom.
When you find yourself reaching for the sugar take a moment to notice how you feel, how does your body feel? Are you tired / stressed / happy? Can you become aware of how your body feels with using language? When we notice our body without language we are less likely to judge how we feel.
Reaching for sugary and fatty foods often occurs when we feel sad, tired, unhappy etc. Notice any emotions within yourself, and ask yourself "what is it I really need right now?", the answer is far more likely to a hug, more time, ............ (fill in the blank), rather than chocolate!! While changing our habits (samskaras) can be incredibly challenging, it can also be amazingly liberating, leading us down a path of santosha (contentment).
Start small, buy a packet of mini eggs, and just eat one.................
